The Making of an 'Airplane Novel'

A Bite-Sized Mystery Novel

You are racing through the airport with only ten minutes to reach your gate. Today you are flying from Cincinnati to Tampa, and your flight time will be just over two hours. As you rush through the terminal you quickly dash into the airport bookstore to frantically search the shelves where the mystery novels are displayed. To your delight there are many wonderful titles to choose from. But to your dismay, a vast majority of these wonderful books are three hundred pages in length or longer. Why don’t more authors write 'bite-sized' mystery novels?

Ray Atkinson took notice and did something about it -- he has written a short murder mystery book which he calls an 'airplane novel'. The idea is very simple -- create an exciting story with an intertwining plot that takes the reader on a stimulating journey, and wrap it up in 150 pages or less. But keep in mind; you don’t have to be traveling on an airplane to enjoy an airplane novel. Anyone who enjoys reading mystery novels can enjoy The Black Tea Experiments. For this is sure to be the first in a series of short and exciting airplane novels by Ray Atkinson.
